County sheriff reports two non injury traffic accidents near Chanute. A three car collision occurred about 7 15 am four miles south of Chanute when Glenwood Brown Leavenworth and Leo Gregory 512 E Main tried to pass a truck. Gregorys car then hit Lew Mervin Snowden R J Earlton with Sheriff Lee Montgomery investigating. Fenders and fronts damaged. About 8 15 am a 38 ton Fadler Produce Co truck from Pittsburg skidded on ice left Highway K39 four miles east of Chanute tipping over. driver William E Blair uninjured.

Bus Driver Heroic End to Snowbound Struggle
In a blizzard near Tucumcari New Mexico bus driver John Herron aged 38 and 16 passengers endured 84 hours stranded after the bus slipped into a drift.
