The Florida State University women’s liberation group, opposing the idea that a woman’s place is in the kitchen, organized a bake sale to raise money. The event reflects campus activism and social debate at FSU in Tallahassee.
Officials of the Strategic Air Command celebrated the ten anniversary of the looking glass airborne command post in Omaha. The DC 135 carrying headquarters staff could not land due to freezing drizzle. The airborne post has been aloft since 1961 and normally operates with SAC battle staffs in three eight hour shifts across several planes.
Kansas Board of Health spokesman Mel Gray said about 300 cities and industries must add water treatment facilities after emergency standards adopted January 8. He noted 30 cities with primary sewer treatment need secondary systems, many towns require chlorination, and several industries must improve waste treatment.
Gov. Docking announced Col. Edgar L. DeGraw will succeed the late Brig. Gen. Smyth as assistant adjutant general of Kansas. A 31 year guardsman and WWII armored unit commander with Patton's Third Army, DeGraw is 49 and a Fort Leavenworth War College graduate.

Neosho County will elect three four year trustees from a six member board with terms starting in 1969 and 1967. Filing ends February 16 and a primary would follow if seven or more file.
