KU students to study languages abroad in Europe
Kansas University in Lawrence announced a summer study program for 67 students. James Ellis and Betty Jean Treloggen will join French and Spanish groups near Paris and Barcelona under Dr. Reinhard Kuhn and Dr. Arnold H. Weiss. A German group will study near Munich. The nine week program earns eight credit hours and costs 725 dollars, including travel by airplane.

Dunn said a district scholar will be chosen this year for the Rotary Foundation Scholarship to study abroad. He was accompanied by his wife and was the 65th district club visit since July. A reception followed at the home of Willes.

Television Set Stolen From Moran Home in Local Theft
Two area thefts were reported yesterday. A 17 inch television was stolen from Dick Moran’s home between 5 and 5 30 pm. Moran resides two miles north and three and three fourths miles east of Leanna. A separate theft near the Austin bridge took a battery 10 gallons of gasoline a grease gun and hand tools from a ditching machine. Robert Kern of Chanute reported Monday night theft.

Southeast Kansas Poultry Jamboree Draws 250 Attendees
