Hope Troupe Back From Far East Christmas Tour

Hollywood AP reports comedian Bob Hope and his touring group returned to Los Angeles after a 15 day Far East Christmas tour to Guam Korea Okinawa Thailand and South Vietnam. Hope joked about security while St John sustained a limp from a crossbow incident but no serious injuries were reported.

Big Suit Filed In Abduction And Slaying Case

A $550000 damages lawsuit was filed in Shawnee County District Court by the mother of a 7 year old girl abducted and slain last month. The suit names Shawnee County Sheriff Lewis H Falley deputies Steve Shutt and Joe King William Zimmer and Surety Commercial Insurance Co as defendants. The mother seeks for the girl’s estate 350000 for suffering 100000 punitive and for herself 25000 punitive 50000 for abduction and 25000 for punitive damages plus wrongful death suffering and duress. The suit alleges negligence by the sheriff and deputies after the disappearance of Gladys Johnson who was found dead a week after her disappearance.

Expansion Plan By Methodists

Second Cousin Murders In Kansas City

Ronald Manning 22 was to be pallbearer for his 15 year old cousin Joseph Manning but was fatally wounded by liquor store owner Albert Molinaro who said Manning threatened him. The same revolver used in both shootings. Manning died at General Hospital from two bullet wounds. Molinaro’s account and police notes describe threats and a second visit by Manning.

Death by Own Action Attempt in Chanute Jail

A 41 year old man, John P Jakubovich, attempted death by self harm in his Chanute jail cell overnight. He was found unresponsive, revived at hospital, and in good condition. Authorities note prior arrest for failure to return rented property and detail related family welfare aid and movements.
