Army veteran James Kennedy stationed at Fort Hood was stopped by Neosho County deputies after a three hour search. A Buffalo couple trailed Kennedy to Shaw where he failed to pay for gas. Kennedy left the car and asked a Shaw resident to drive him to Erie, then rode with the resident’s wife to the sheriff. The stolen Cherryvale car was found in Shaw. Kennedy is in Neosho County Jail and charges are possible in Wilson and Montgomery counties.
