The 50 000th patient admitted to Neosho Memorial Hospital this year is Rev Charles E Rains of 1501 S Highland. He entered on October 23 and was discharged October 24. Nurses at the main station presented a bouquet in honor of the milestone. The hospital opened in January 1951.

The Vietnam bound SS Badger State burned in the mid Pacific 580 miles northeast of Midway Island.
