A Gooding family near Chanute recalls a Christmas scare when Richard almost drowned after stepping onto pond ice. Mrs. Gooding rescued him using a board, and Richard vowed not to return to the water. Chanute hosts a long-standing indoor Nativity scene by Rosario Gutierrez open tonight through Christmas week. A holiday call connected seven siblings in seven cities at 7 am today.
A Friday night crash in southern Oklahoma killed four people. Mrs Ruby Cole 42 of Byars and her daughters Mary Collena 9 and Genevieve 13 died in a head on collision with a pickup driven by Billy David Kelly 35 of Kingston.
A 15 year old boy who admitted taking two Christmas presents from the Cloyd Wilson home at 1321 Santa Fe Avenue Thursday night is referred to juvenile authorities. The gifts were recovered.
