Charles Myers of Wichita has been named commercial manager of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Chanute. He replaces John Roetzler of 1016 West Ninth, who is promoted to sales and service manager at Topeka after 15 months in Chanute. Myers, previously business office supervisor at Wichita, and his wife Diana have a year old son Brad and have not yet taken residence in Chanute.

Two Injured In One Car Crash Near Humboldt
Deanna DeMeritt 20 of Topeka suffered a fractured jaw and facial injuries in a one car crash five miles northwest of Humboldt at 7:30 p m. She was taken to Neosho Memorial Hospital and later moved to the University of Kansas Medical Center. Her mother Roma DeMeritt 63 of Lavenburg was a passenger with cuts bruises and shock and treated at Neosho Memorial. Trooper Eugene Stallsmith investigated the incident.

Three Runs For Firemen
The fire department made two weekend runs and one early today. A shed at Floyd Byers, 201 Denman, burned down with alarm at 6:20 p.m. yesterday. Saturday at 5:45 p.m. they responded to John Sherman, 308 W. Main, for a wood fireplace fire but no damage occurred. Today at 1:55 a.m. they checked Pearl Akers residence east of the city with no fire found.

Humphrey Honored with Truman Award in KC Dinner
