A pack of German shepherd dogs killed two small boys in Madison Heights near a creek. Five Chanute Boys Released After Curfew Violation
Five Chanute juveniles ages 14 to 16 were stopped for curfew at 1 20 a m and placed in temporary custody after officers found four six packs of beer in their car. The beer was confiscated and the youths were released to their homes at 4 p m. One boy reportedly did not know his parent's whereabouts before contact could be made.

Two Car Crashes Hurt Four in Chanute Area
Two single vehicle crashes near Chanute injured four residents Saturday and early today. Herbert Dent and Wesley Dewey, both 24, were hurt when their eastbound car left K39 north of Fredonia.
