The alarmed discovery was made at 7:30 am by teacher Mrs. Ernest Wahl, who is teaching in place of injured Mrs. Dean Geeding. Sheriff Lee Montgomery and Undersheriff Jack Reynolds said intruders broke a front door glass and forced the lock before ransacking desks.

Twelve people died when an old model car collided with the Southern Pacific Golden State Limited near Phoenix. An 18 month old girl survived with critical injuries. the crash site revealed scattered bodies and a 30 foot by 200 foot gully. Ninety nine? No, eighty nine Korean orphans arrived in San Francisco aboard a Pan American flight to begin new lives in foster homes across California and other states.
