County Treasurer Don Harding urges truck owners to apply early for 1956 licenses. A weight ticket showing unloaded truck weight with driver, spare tires, and full gas is required at application to speed issuance. Licenses go on sale January 3. Burglar robs the East Side home of actress Louise Allbritton stealing jewelry valued at 5000 dollars. The items included a platinum wedding ring diamond clips and two gold bracelets. Louise Allbritton and husband Charles Collingwood were away at the time.

Dr. J. T. Kennedy, 73, long time Blue Mound physician and 45 year city councilman, fled yesterday from a hospital in Fort Scott after a long illness. He served the community as a physician for 52 years.

Morrie Rabinowitch a debt counselor told a California legislative subcommittee that about 20 percent of American families are so deeply in debt their credit is exhausted. He urged regulation of pro raters who take up to 15 percent of a client's payments as fees for arranging creditor payment plans. The assembly subcommittee on fiscal agencies is examining the practice.
In New York City, 24-year-old John Foley punched his mother Margaret Foley and split her lip. He faced assault charges in magistrate court. his mother asked for a reduced charge to avoid a criminal record. Judge Louis Kaplan granted the request, sentencing Foley to six months in the workhouse and condemning the act as shameful.
