A 33 year old Ottawa insurance salesman, Jack Henry Marconett, robbed a Topeka service station for about 126 dollars claiming financial need. He admitted the daylight heist, used a pistol, and fled in a Franklin County plated car later found with a pistol inside. Police linked the vehicle to Marconett, who was arrested in the Southern and Western Life Insurance Co offices. County Attorney charged him with first degree robbery.
