ILC-Conroth will relocate its warehouse to a new plant at Safari Industrial Park next week. Earl DeVries, manager, said the target date is January 15 to complete the move from 915 W. Cherry. Delays due to unfinished sewer lines push the completion past December 20 if needed.
The City Commission weighs limited industrial aid for R. C. Lee’s Supreme Trailer project amid budget constraints. ILC plans a new 53 500 square foot plant on K39 near Plummer, with 100 current employees, financed by 275 000 industrial revenue bonds. The city owns the West Cherry facility, leases it to ILC, and may sell to exit real estate business. Groundbreaking occurred July 19 at the industrial park with occupancy expected by Thanksgiving. ILC expects spring hires.
Neosho County treasurer Don Harding said Erie Monday is the last day to pay 1971 property taxes without penalty. Half of the 1971 taxes is due now. if unpaid, the full tax bill becomes due with a penalty on Tuesday. The second half is due June 20. Payments are arriving at a brisk rate this week.

Whyte Wood Products in our area adopted a four day 40 hour work week with a three day weekend after a one month trial. Twenty five of twenty seven employees voted for the short week. Plant hours run 7 a.m. to 5 30 p.m. with lunch break. overtime remains possible on Fridays.
