Humboldt Youth Hurt In One Car Accident
A 1954 Chevrolet driven by Fred Cano 19 of Humboldt ran off US 59 two miles south of here and overturned into a water filled ditch at about 2 30 a m. Cano escaped with cuts and bruises and was cited for reckless driving. His hearing is scheduled for 10 a m Wednesday in justice court. Sheriff Sloan said Cano had been in Erie and was en route to Parsons.

Murder trial starts for Lee Andrews in Kansas
In Kansas City Kansas a 19 year old former University of Kansas student Lee Andrews goes on trial for first degree murder in the triple killing of his father W. L. Andrews 50 his mother Opal Andrews 41 and sister Jennis Marie Andrews 20. A patrolman said Andrews was on an enclosed back porch petting his dog when officers arrived and were told by the youth to look inside the house where the bodies were found. Deputy county attorney Samuel Wells said the state would prove Andrews killed his family to gain their 250 acre farm and spent months planning the deaths before shooting them and simulating a burglary to cover the crime.
