Missouri Driver Arrested Here After Erratic Ride
Paul E. Davis of Springfield Missouri was arrested by police at 2 30 a m on charges of transporting an open bottle and not having a license. He was held briefly at the city jail and released at 11 a m after posting 35 dollar bond. Davis was stopped on South Santa Fe for erratic driving and left Chanute by bus after his release, leaving his car behind until a driving permit is obtained or the vehicle is moved.

Three youths arrested for discharging fireworks in city limits
Police cited Oren T. Johnson 19 R 2 John A. Campbell 18 1207 S Garfield and Ronald E. Chase 18 507 S Steuben at midnight for tossing lighted firecrackers from a car. Assault Charges Are Dropped In Kansas Farm Case
In Garnett Kansas the felony assault charges against Scott Powelson and Bobby Dale Cook were dropped. Powelson was tried in June yielding a hung jury, Cook had not stood trial.
