A brick laden semi trailer overturned on US 59 five miles north of here at 3:45 am. Driver John R. Brabant 27 of Humboldt was treated for chest and cheek cuts and released. He said a calf crossing ahead distracted him. Truck owned by Bud Powell trucking Chanute en route to Arkansas from Humboldt Brick & Tile. International tractor totaled. Load about 10 tons. Steep embankment at the crash site.

Truck Stolen From Harold Wright Farm Near St Paul
A two ton 1962 International truck with Neosho County license T-3031 was stolen from Harold Wright farm two miles east and seven and a half miles south of here at about 11 45 last night. The thief started the diesel tractor and opened barn gates releasing cattle. Sheriff Jerry Sloan said the theft was reported at 1 30 a.m. and Wrights woke to investigate after hearing a truck drive away.
