U.S. demands North Korea punish those responsible for murders
The United States pressed North Korea to punish those responsible for the killings of two UNC officers in the DMZ. Navy Rear Adm. Mark Frudden urged assurances for UNC personnel safety while North Korea expressed regret. Capt. Arthur Bonifas and 1st Lt. Mak Barrett were killed during a tree trimming operation on August 18.
