Boy and sister shot with BB gun prompt safety plea

Shaw Crash Injures 2 Men One Seriously
Two men were injured in a collision two miles north of Shaw at 8:30 this morning. Henry Wesley Cruser 121 of 907 S Highland and Delbert Keriker 38 of Humboldt were taken to Neosho Memorial Hospital with Cruser sustaining a severe head injury and Keriker a serious head wound including a left ear laceration. Cruser drove a 1961 Ford panel truck for Manor Bread Co while Keriker drove a 1961 Chevrolet pickup for Deerfield Oil Corp Cha nute. Both vehicles overturned and the drivers were thrown from the cabs. Police said Cruser failed to stop at a stop sign. Damage to the bread truck was estimated at 1800 and the pickup was a total loss. Sheriff Jerry Sloan and Under Sheriff Lester Marts assisted with the investigation.

Fumes Blast Fatal to Four in Philadelphia Sewer
Four men trapped 40 feet underground in a storm sewer tunnel died or were presumed dead after fumes from gasoline filled the 200 foot tunnel in South Philadelphia. Firefighters could not reach the victims due to dangerous vapors. two bodies were recovered and identified as James Hennigan and William Gregory, both 35, with two others believed dead.
