John Henry Cramer, 21, sought for gas station robbery, lived in a 12 foot deep dry well for three weeks. He cooked meat on a kerosene stove, hunted rabbits with bow and arrow, and was spotted when he climbed out to buy groceries. Police say the well measured 16 by 8 feet and he is in Lancaster County prison in $6,000 bail.
The Martin K. Eby Construction Co. of Wichita Kansas appears to have the low bid for the Cordell Hull Dam powerhouse at 15 228 975 dollars. The bid is higher than the engineers estimate of 12 892 265 dollars. The dam on the Caney Fork River near Carthage Tennessee is part of a 68.2 million project slated for completion in 1973.
Claims estimated by the Insurance Information Institute total about 100 million with more than 80 million in Mississippi and Alabama and 13 million in Louisiana. Florida claims are under 300 thousand. About 85 percent cover fixed properties and most policies exclude flood losses.

The gas, used in World War I, can cause fatal edema and earlier similar deliveries sparked public concern amid congressional criticism.
A northbound 1964 semi truck driven by Delbert Shrum, 31, of Bartlesville collided with a Santa Fe switch engine at the Mid-American Refinery crossing on US-169 near Cha Vie at about 7:20 am. Shrum escaped injury. highway patrol estimated $800 damage to the truck and $25 to the engine. The truck’s brakes failed, forcing a evasive turn toward the tracks. Engineer Neil Ashley, 55, of 816 S Evergreen, and flagman J. C. Brady were on board. A wrecker removed the truck after about an hour, and the engine was pulling one tank car.

Actually eastern and central Kansas expected more thunderstorm activity today and tonight with 30 percent tonight and 20 percent Thursday. The hearing concerns Hoffa and others challenging jury tampering convictions based on alleged illegal wiretap evidence. Shenker urged full file access, government says 254 transcripts exist as all pertinent material. The judge will review the file for defense relevance.
