Balloon medical test aims for near space 24 hour endurance flight
Maj. David G. Simons, 34, of Lancaster Pennsylvania, lifted in a high altitude balloon from Crosby Minnesota to study life in artificial atmosphere. The Air Force Man High program seeks data for future pilots as the balloon is expected to reach about 102000 feet before descent. The flight starts with a pre dawn launch and will travel southeast then across North Dakota toward Miles City and eastern Montana.

At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Charles Moss and Josephine Hale collided at Grant and Walnut, damaging the Moss 1951 Plymouth and the Hale 1957 Ford.

James Edward Perry 19, son of Mr and Mrs Robert B Perry of 1123 W Main died in a car crash near Grand Prairie Texas. James Richard Esson, 35, a fugitive from Ohio, was brought to Lexington Missouri from Kansas City to face a first degree robbery charge. Three youths received cuts and bruises in a one car crash on a county road south of St. Paul at about 10 p.m. Saturday. Gerald Cody 16 of Fort Scott and A J Goodsell and Jean Goodsell of St. Paul were identified by Sheriff Lee Montgomery. The 1953 Kaiser driven by Cody struck a concrete culvert after being blinded by an approaching car. The driver was visiting the Goodsells for a fishing trip.

Kilby faces charges of vagancy suspicion of statutory reported incident holding against will and white slavery. The girl said she was kept overnight in a Tulsa motel and in a Wichita apartment before Kilby released her to hitchhike back to Missouri.
