Kenneth Woods kept Joe in a cage at the Chanute fire station until 6 30 this morning when a cat was found inside the cage. Fire Chief Bill Brennan says the bird, given to the station a decade ago, entertained hundreds and a $25 reward is offered for information on the act.

Twins Net Rich Spider Catch Near Thayer Park
David and Douglas Osborn, twin sons of Mr and Mrs Bill Osborn of Thayer, found a female tarantula with many freshly hatched offspring at the northwest edge of Thayer near the ball park.
