Construction picks up pace in Chanute area in 1965

Two Girls and Horse Escape After Truck Crash

Trucker Dies When Cement Tank Uproots Cab Near Milo
John E. Vandermark a 42 year old Coffeyville Kansas resident was killed when his sewer cement tanker tractor trailer left U S 71 a mile south of Milo Missouri. The rig skidded 360 feet through a ditch struck a utility pole and the cement tank tore free crushing the cab. The vehicle belonged to Ryan Cement Company of Chanute Kansas.
