1940 Ford Pickup Damaged by Fire in Cha nute
Wayne James of Cha nute owned a restored 1940 Ford pickup that burned at 1201 S Allen around 7 PM. Fire Chief John Erickson said welding near the gasol ine tank ignited fumes. a gasoline container in the truck bed worsened the blaze. Firefighters arrived but the truck was deemed beyond repair.
