Coffeyville Man's Body Found in Creek

The body of C. J. Alexander, 59, a Coffeyville Kansas foundry worker swept away by a flash flood, was recovered by searchers near a low water bridge on Turkey Creek. Ivan Maros, who worked with Alexander, located the body about a mile downstream. County Officials Meet at Erie

A quarterly gathering of southeast Kansas county officials drew 135 members from 17 counties in Erie. The program featured a general session with M. J. Blackston of Chanute speaking on investments, plus lunch and afternoon group meetings led by Lloyd Baxley of Allen County and welcome from Mayor L. R. Rogers. Execution Date Set for Three in Duncan Slaying Case

A June 17 execution date is set for Elizabeth Duncan and two hired roustabouts, Luis Moya and Augustine Baldonado, convicted of the November 18 1958 strangulation death of Olga Duncan, the pregnant daughter in law.
