Gas powered model plane crashes near Chanute field
A gasoline powered model air plane crashed on a farm southwest of Chanute with no passengers aboard. Pat and Don Grimes, sons of City Engineer and Mrs Paschal Grimes, flew it Saturday and witnessed the ascent and disappearance into the sky. Higher winds carried it north until fuel ran out. A second similar plane was reported missing by Howard Hackett of 117 N Highland, valued at 25 dollars.
