Eight Die In Saratoga Fire At Downtown Building
A mother and father and six children perished when a downtown Saratoga Springs three story frame building housing a business and eight apartments burned early today. More than 50 people lived there and many fled onto the street in nightclothes. One man, William Selby aged 43, suffered facial and back burns. Mr and Mrs Abeel and their children plus 10 year old Garry Lutue were trapped as flames roared through the structure.

Injuries Fatal To Kansas Woman in Weekend Crash
Mrs. Mabel Benton, 51, Osage City Kansas, died yesterday as the fifth victim of a Sunday automobile crash. Her husband Vernon Benton, 51, also died in the head on collision near Grafton West Virginia.

Jim Perry sixteen son of Mr and Mrs Robert B Perry of 1123 West Main was injured when his motorcycle collided with a car north of Chanute last night. He was treated at Neosho Memorial Hospital for a nose laceration and contusions and then released. He told police the headlight failed and the car did not stop after the impact.

Two Men Die In Topeka Bridge Crash
Herbert C. Head aged 30 and Gerald M. Evans aged 29, both of Sunflower Kansas, were killed in a car truck collision on a bridge over the Kansas River in Topeka. The car hit the rear of a truck driven by John Spillman of Fredonia as both southbound on U S Highways 40 and 75 crossed the bridge.
