Extension Specialist Found Dead in Car near Emporia
Lott Taylor an agricultural extension specialist at Kansas State University was found dead in his car ten miles east of Emporia on Sunday. Coroner Dr W H Spry said an autopsy would be performed. Taylor an animal husbandry expert was married with two children.

Chanute residents switched to dial service and completed the changeover at 1 01 am yesterday. City commissioner Dave Evans made the first call to Coffeyville relatives. Al Endres of Southwestern Bell said the rollout went well with only negligible trouble. 26626 local calls and 450 direct distance dialing calls were logged yesterday. Officials attended the changeover and toured the new facilities. An open house is planned for mid May.

Governor to Sign All Major Bills
TOPEKA AP Governor John Anderson said he will sign all major bills passed by the 1961 legislature. He has vetoed only two minor bills of 150 signed and has about 300 more decisions to make. He noted about 50 administration bills with five rejected and expected to sign the congressional reapportionment and salary-increase measures for officials and judges. The governor’s own pay rise to 20,000 starts in 1963.
