$50,000 Award For Crash Injuries
Jerry Zutavern of Great Bend Kansas received a $50,000 out of court settlement from Consolidated Industries Inc Lafayette for injuries from a 1953 plane collision. He had filed a $750,000 federal suit alleging general negligence and lost a leg in the crash. The settlement was reached and the suit dismissed March 30, a company spokesman said.

Two-Car Crash Injures Couple South of City
Mr and Mrs N E Durham of 25 E 8th were treated at Neosho Memorial Hospital for facial and head cuts after a midnight collision just south of the city limits. Richard LeRoy Johnstone 23 of 108 N Central was arrested for operating under the influence and posted 500 bond. The Johnstone car crossed the center line on US169 in a head on crash with the Durham vehicle. The Durhams sustained stitches for facial injuries. Minor crashes were also reported Sunday involving Bruce Franklin Carr and Robert Earl Miley and Harold E Smith and Melvin Perkins. No further injuries reported. The Gathman carleft control and went off the highway six miles east of St Paul. no injuries.

Two masked gunmen robbed a Wichita Kroger of 3000 to 4000 dollars early yesterday. They gained entry by breaking into the home of assistant manager Everett Hickman, woke him, and forced him to unlock the store and open the safe. The bandits left Hickman in the store and fled.

Parole Violator Sentenced to 120 Days in Jail

Youth Held Here In Car Theft Case
David Gordon Harrison a 17 year old of Plains Ohio was taken into custody here Saturday for theft of a 1956 Chevrolet motor car in Oklahoma City police said today. He was also reported AWOL from the armed services. Alleged theft occurred about April first. Harrison was taken to Erie today by Sheriff Lee Montgomery to be held for Oklahoma authorities. The car was stored at a local garage to await its claimant.

Two Hour Power Failure Hits City South Side
A two hour power outage affected homes in the southern part of the city after a fuse near Fourth and Evergreen failed. Smoke from the incident prompted a home at 1706 S Highland to report a fire, though firefighters found no damage. The alarm came in at 3:52 a.m. and crews were back at the station by 4:45 a.m.

Truck Driver Injured as Freight Train Derailed in Yukon
