British Prime Minister Macmillan said a treaty could come within a reasonable time though key issues such as moratorium length inspection number and other terms require further negotiation. Soviet delegate Tsarapkin described the plan as encouraging but unresolved and referred the Western proposal to Moscow for study as talks continued.

The fire department made 17 runs in March: six residential, four grass and brush, two cars, one business building, and two to Danville and Chetopa Townships.
