Fragmented historical text of unknown author and scrawled notes

Fragmented tale of a Pennsylvania inn and a murder

A narrator in central Pennsylvania recalls a summer in a mountain town, a charming inn, and a blossoming romance with the innkeeper’s daughter. The plot thickens as Roland Powers, a dapper rival, hints at betrayal, leading to a murder accusation, a tense chase, and an alibi battle that ends with Powers fleeing.
