Minnesota woman records histories along Mississippi trek
Ely artist Nancy Scheibe starts Sept 3 a six week kayak journey from Minnesota to St. Louis gathering oral histories from women aged 50 and up. She plans nine gatherings including one in Fort Madison, with coals from a 1995 fire to fuel a sacred fire as stories are shared.
