Iowa sex offender to plead guilty over 2000 foot rule
Keith Seering, 53, of Iowa City, will plead guilty to living within 2000 feet of schools and day cares after a three year challenge to the residency law. He faces up to two years in prison with a Nov. 15 trial looming, saying he plans to leave Iowa for Wyoming and his family behind amid financial and housing struggles. Johnson County officials say he cannot remain at his current Regency Iowa City residence within the restricted zone.
