Hancher Auditorium Sees Gala Return With Three Amigos
Designer Cesar Pelli led the reopening of Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City after floods. Steve Martin and Martin Short headlined a gala with the Steep Canyon Rangers, drawing thousands for a celebratory, star‑studded event at the University of Iowa venue. Ed Marshall, a construction worker from Wheaton, reflected on building the new hall in extreme cold. The project, valued at 176 million dollars, marks a landmark homecoming for the arts center with donors and guests enjoying multiple open houses and concerts.
