A vivid roster style scene lists 11 key players for the winning team and 11 for the losers along with 4 referees 3 or 4 coaches and 10 to 12 cheerleaders. Dozens of drained parents families and fans plus a group of volunteers fill the stands and sidelines.
Mix well from late August to November and kick in one football. Serve on a regular-size football field and dish up slightly frosted around Thanksgiving in bowl games throughout the country. Top with trophies.
The Pop Warner Junior Football League is a national program with about 250 000 players on 6 000 teams. Joe Tomlin created the league forty nine years ago, named for coach Pop Warner. Children ages seven to fifteen play, with team placement based on weight and age to keep competition fair. Teams nationwide prep for upcoming bowl games.
