Nelsons Return to TV Set Reflects Family Values
Ozzie and Harriet Nelson renew their TV presence from a ramshackle Hollywood studio, staging a new show with son David as executive producer. Two college-age girls, Brenda Sykes and Susan Kennett, join the Nelsons as roommates while attending school, testing both white and black actresses for the parts. The couple insists the program mirrors their home life and standards, avoiding drugs and scandal while addressing modern youth culture with honesty.
