Walford to Draft Comprehensive Plan With ECICOG Aid
Walford’s City Council hired ECICOG to help the Planning and Zoning Commission draft a 20 year comprehensive plan. ECICOG planner David Correia urged broad participation at a Town Meeting to reflect community needs and desires in the plan. Walford sits on Linn and Benton County borders, with both counties among the fastest growing areas.

Walford Iowa expanded from 308 residents in 1990 to 933 by 1998, a 207.9 percent rise. Among Iowa towns, only Peosta in Dubuque County reported a higher growth rate at 285.9 percent.
