Motorcyclist injured after collision with turning truck
A 25 year old motorcyclist was injured Thursday afternoon in Marion after hitting a truck turning from the left lane. He remained in fair condition at St Luke's Hospital with contusions and abrasions. No charges were filed.

Celebrity diabetes bike ride kick off caps Cedar Rapids events

Suspects in attack on Palo officer face assault charges
Three people were arrested on assault charges in two incidents. Becky Kelsey 21 and Tarrel Price 23 of Palo surrendered to Linn District Court over assault causing bodily injury in the attack on Palo police officer Richard McLaud who was injured and treated at St. Luke's Hospital. Mark Chamberlain 29 was arrested for drunken driving assault and eluding arrest during the same event. Another arrest, Daniel Frasher 23 of Cedar Rapids, occurred at Mercy Hospital after he allegedly struck Officer Jerry Chapman. Frasher faces simple assault disorderly conduct and public intoxication charges.
