Gloria Lacey aged 32 of 1506 Fourth Ave SE was hospitalized Friday afternoon after her car collided head on with a northbound vehicle driven by Freeman Ritchie 49 of rural Anamosa two miles north of Amana on highway 149. Lacey was admitted to Mercy Hospital Cedar Rapids in fair condition then moved to University Hospitals Iowa City. no condition report available. Ritchie was treated and released at Mercy Hospital. State troopers said Lacey crossed the center line causing the crash. investigation ongoing.
Mack C. Cole 18 of 521 14th St SE was charged with first degree robbery for the Sept. 14 armed robbery at American Indian Arts 1443 First Ave SE. Police arrested him on a warrant issued Thursday. Jewelry valued at more than 15000 dollars was taken. Cole held at Linn County Jail in 25000 dollar bond.
