Why ride a bicycle for commuting at five miles
Mark Garvey argues that for distances up to five miles a bicycle is more efficient and cheaper than a car. He cites lower per mile costs about 3 to 5 cents, a year of commuting costs around 76 dollars, and argues bikes are maneuverable, easy to park, and can be walked when obstructed. He shares a Kin Nick Stadium traffic jam anecdote to illustrate commuting choices.
