Loomis Named Head of Public Broadcasting CPB
Henry Loomis deputy director of USIA since 1968 becomes president of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting taking over Oct. 1. He will succeed John Macy Jr. who resigned in August after leading CPB since its 1968 formation under Congress. Loomis earns 42500 annually, below Macy’s 65000, with salary a point of contention amid vetoed funding bills and White House leadership debates.
