Soybean oilmeal export hope highlighted at association meeting
E. F. Johnson of St. Louis told the closing sessions of the sixteenth annual American Soybean Association meeting near Hudson that soybean oilmeal offers strong export potential under current world conditions and could surpass other farm products except cotton. He warned the US must raise meal quality and adjust packaging to compete with Manchurian mills and notes few processing plants near the seaboard. Johnson also warned Manchuria’s large soybean output could keep world prices low until the US expands production.
