Charcot Shipwreck Survivor Recalls Fatal 1936 Voyage
A lone survivor described the 1936 sinking of the Pourquois-Pas after a 70 mile gale drove the ship onto rocks in Faxa Fjord near Reykjavik. Dr. Jean Charcot and 32 crew members died. 29 bodies were recovered and four are missing.
