Cedar Rapids Sees Low Net Cost for Sewage Plant
Howard R. Green told the High Twelve club Cedar Rapids must run a disposal plant as large as a 200000 city due to high sewage concentration. After a 30 percent PWA grant, net cost was about 400000 or just over 6 dollars per person, with operating costs about one fourth of a cent per resident daily. Cedar Rapids led Iowa in building a plant under the first PWA projects.
