Forum in Cedar Rapids weighs Tribes casting controversy
About 60 people gathered at Connectivity to discuss Theatre Cedar Rapids casting of Billy and Sylvia in Tribes with no deaf actors auditioned. Deaf activists urge postponement to allow authentic casting and sign language fluency, urging collaboration and better outreach. Casey Prince commits to listening and reporting feedback to leadership. UNI Theatre will hold another discussion today in Cedar Falls.
