Cedar Rapids bike lane creates commuter congestion on H Avenue
In Cedar Rapids the eastbound lane of H Avenue NE was narrowed to one lane, forcing parents and workers into a longer morning commute. An informal count showed about 600 vehicles passing Center Point Road in a single file, with the bike lane remaining largely unused during rush hour. Cyclists at NewBo City Market discussed rules of the road as two-lane traffic reduces road space. A rider expressed concern about sharing the lane with large vehicles.
