TV producer backs Ali for rematch but hopes it lasts
ABC plans 7 to 10 p.m. Friday coverage of Muhammad Ali and Leon Spinks with 11 cameras and live fights leading to an Ali bout expected around 9 p.m. Chet Forte, ABC producer, hopes Ali wins but not quickly, preferring live action over taped interviews. He notes potential live updates from New York and a postfight highlight package.
