Ossian resident Daniel Brincks, 18, will appear in magistrate court Tuesday on arson charges after police and fire crews found a vehicle burning in a ditch on the Ossian blacktop north of West Union. The car was owned by Brincks and investigators say the fire was intentional.

Eight Die In Weekend Iowa Traffic Fatalities
Eight persons were killed in weekend crashes across Iowa including two double fatalities. A North Des Moines wreck on I 80 claimed two lives and injured three. National Guard Jeep driver Jimmy A Quick 29 Newton and Dr Keui S Sun 65 Ames died. A second double fatality near Walcott on US 6 left Scott Wells 18 and Deborah Ales 16 dead.
