West Branch marks 9/11 anniversary with flag, events

West Branch honors the 9/11 anniversary with a giant human American flag formed by 500 students, a Town Green program of songs and speeches, and a wreath memorial. Iowa Politicians Join 9 11 Memorial Activities

Sen Tom Harkin joined Iowans in blood donation at Veterans Memorial Auditorium and attended a Sept 11 memorial in Des Moines. Rep Greg Ganske paused campaigns to partake in memorial services and urged a temporary ad suspension. Gov Tom Vilsack also suspended campaigning while Doug Gross joined memorial events.
