Safety Patrol Honors and Training Across Schools
Since 1935 the safety patrol program has cut pedestrian deaths by over half for ages 5 to 14. Volunteers, selected by teachers, serve at crossings at morning and afternoon shifts in all weather, earning pride, activities, and certificates as rewards. Notable participants include Scott Jenkins, Bobby Wilson, Barry Bingham, George Mershon, and Joelle Patton.
