Library withdrawals and school improvements prioritized by board

The board reviewed task force findings on withdrawing elementary books and requested an updated report. Edward Beatty asked for a list of books to be withdrawn and reasons, while Robert Weinhardt sought justification for each. Foley noted board input is not required by current policy, but Beatty urged follow-up. Most proposed withdrawals predated 1975, suggesting publishers and district librarians favor more acceptable materials. The board also prioritized junior high remodeling, shifting funds from a planned 9.5 million bond to complete basic construction, window, roof, and terra cotta work, with total project cost about 13.92 million over four years.
